In addition to the specific training offered, we’ve established two development initiatives that run across the whole group: The Leadership Commitment and HBOS-U.

The Leadership Commitment

At HBOS, we nurture talent. We’ve developed the Leadership Commitment – our definition of what leadership is – to ensure we recruit talented colleagues and encourage their development. Essentially a competency framework, the Leadership Commitment supports colleagues' development against 4 key areas of Lead, Shape, Build and Deliver and underpins most of our people policies and practices including recruitment and selection, performance management and role evaluation.

HBOS–U

Through HBOS–U we deliver targeted and focused development solutions for colleagues, who we believe drive the success of our business. HBOS-U provides access to a wide range of options including face-to-face workshops, e-learning and online library resources, all aligned to our Leadership Commitment.
