Lee's Profile - Sales Professional

I was a lifeguard before I joined HBOS, which I suppose is similar in some ways to working. In my previous role I was promoted to Duty Manager within the Leisure Centre that involved some sales, which I really enjoyed, and it gave the taste for more. I then decided to move to HBOS as I wanted to be in sales all the time - and now I’m here selling home insurance!

My wife works for Halifax, so I knew first hand that they are a good employer.

They really support me and I know if I want to develop that’s absolutely fine and they’ll be right behind me; in fact I’ve just reached the final stage to become a Financial Advisor, and I couldn’t have done it without the backing of my managers! I also have a one-to-one every week where I can discuss any problems, careers moves, and celebrate achievements.

I’m one of the top sellers here and there are annual and monthly awards. I was the salesman of the year in 2005 and 2007 and I achieved a quarterly award in October 2008. My achievements have been recognised and I feel that my hard work has been rewarded. There’s also a monthly bonus scheme, flexible benefits, you can buy holidays, childcare vouchers are available, and there are even in-house award ceremonies where people can nominate each other. This really is not like what some people think a contact centre would be like!
